BETTER SCHOOLS, NO NEW TAXES
New Milford can strengthen schools without raising taxes by putting wasted dollars back into classrooms. Energy savings agreements (like solar PPAs) cut utility bills and free up money — Groton schools save $40,000 a year this way.
At the same time, schools can earn new revenue by renting gyms, fields, and auditoriums for community events, sports, or summer programs — turning empty space into dollars for teachers and students. Schools can also bring in new dollars by offering summer and adult classes and partnering with nearby colleges.
What's the plan? Make every dollar stretch further, and put the savings back into classrooms where students benefit most.

TAX DOLLARS BACK TO RESIDENTS
In New Milford, the mayor controls a discretionary fund — money that can be spent on town projects without clear oversight. While the amount may seem small compared to the full town budget, it adds up over time and belongs to the taxpayers, not to political interests.
Imagine instead if those dollars went back into the community. A portion could reduce fees for youth sports, senior programs, or small business permits. Another part could help fund classroom needs or lower household costs through energy-savings programs.
What's the plan? Taxpayer money should serve all residents, not just a few. By returning those dollars to the people, New Milford can lower the burden on families while still funding what matters most.

SAFE WATER, SAFER ROADS
In New Milford, there is serious thinking to moving the Department of Public Works to land that sits directly over our aquifer — the very source of our drinking water. Without strict safeguards, one fuel leak or chemical spill could put our water at risk for generations.
Clean water is not optional.
At the same time, between 2018 and 2022, there were more than 770 crashes on the Route 7 New Milford stretch. Residents know the risks all too well. In a 2023 News-Times article, Laura Reynolds who lives near Willow Springs said, “You really put your life in your hands.”
What's the plan? Safe water and safe roads are not optional — they are basic rights for every resident. By protecting the aquifer from risky development and working with the State to fix the deadliest stretches of our roads, New Milford can safeguard its future while putting people, not politics, first.

I'm running on three issues.
